Butley Priory wedding venue, Woodbridge, Suffolk (Wedding Venue Spotlight)
Post Date: Tuesday, 9 June 2020
Are you planning your wedding and looking for a stunning venue in the English countryside? We can highly recommend Butley Priory, a beautiful Suffolk wedding venue tucked away in the Suffolk Heritage Coast, near Woodbridge.
Butley Priory has a very interesting history. The building you see in these photos, which is used as the wedding venue is actually the 14th-century gatehouse, which was beautifully restored by George Wright and converted into a mansion after he inherited the property in 1737. You can read more information on the history of Butley Priory on the venue's website.

It's not often that you see a wedding car with a competition clutch and nearly no internal trim. That's probably because most wedding cars aren't also competition rally cars. Rally Driver Paul Dumbill tentatively lent his Honda Civic to his groom son and best man to get them to the venue on time!
That venue was Butley priory, close to Woodbridge, Suffolk. It's a beautiful place to get married, and we love photographing weddings there, especially when the weather is as fine as it was for Jessica and Martin.
The rally car wasn't the only mode of transport available, thankfully, and bride Jessica arrived in more traditional fashion.
Their ceremony was a multilingual affair, as there was plenty of welsh family in attendance, and Jessica's dog even made an appearance.

Yet another lovely couple, Cat and Jamie and their families made us very welcome at their Woodhall Manor wedding earlier this year.
It was especially great to have another outdoor wedding, as the weather was kind, and outdoor wedding ceremonies always have a great atmosphere!
